      Responsible for supervising senior staff, managing the budget, and technical leadership within the Office.During the 2011 emergency at the Fukushima Dai-ich Nuclear Power Plants in Japan, I led the Department's technical efforts to measure the deposition of radiological contamination in Northern Japan. Responsibility for staffing, training, and equipping the Department's four emergency response teams in the areas of radiological modeling, monitoring, and medical consultation.

      As a member of the Senior Executive Service, I serve as the Deputy Associate Administrator for the Office of Counterterrorism and Counterproliferation within the National Nuclear Security Administration. My Office has the responsibility to understand and develop capabilities to mitigate nuclear threats; to manage a flexible and effective nuclear emergency response capability for any accident or incident worldwide; and to exercise and train with domestic and international partners in order to assist others in building response capacity. The Office is comprised of approximately 50 Federal employees; supports hundreds of Management and Operations contractor employees across the DOE/NNSA National Laboratories, Plants, and Sites; and manages a budget of approximately $235 million per year.
