As the biodigester already existed at the location, the studies were focused on the economic viability of the use of biogas, which was only burned, to the detriment of the purchase of electricity from the grid.       Theme: “Solar photovoltaic on grid installation: project, legal aspects, actual data and economic viability”ABSTRACT: The present work aims to study the design of a solar photovoltaic installation that has been interconnected to the electricity grid at a residence located in Itajubá, Minas Gerais, Brazil, by using technologies which are available in the market and following the public policies on its implementation.An economic feasibility analysis has also been performed by considering actual data of a PV system installed in this residence, current electricity charges, and investment cost with current data on the Brazilian market so as to calculate some decision-making parameters, such as IRR, NPV and their respective Payback.Moreover, legal and political issues were assessed in order to depict the Brazilian scenario regarding the implementation of new photovoltaic solar projects for homes.
