  The Director of Academic Programs provides leadership for matters related to curriculum, including thedevelopment of new programs/courses, the maintenance of existing programs/courses, and all aspectsof the academic program life cycle. This position ensures curriculum processes are efficient, effectiveand accurate from beginning to end. The Assistant Director of Academic Programs oversees the day to day College-wide curriculum management and approval process. The position collaborates with Faculty, Department Chairpersons and Deans to ensure curricular actions are reviewed and implemented in compliance with Federal, State, and College policies. Serves as a liaison with the Miami Dade College College-wide Administration, Faculty, District Director for Academic Programs, and other personnel to coordinate the review, implementation, and compliance (Federal, State, and institutional policy/procedure) for curricular proposal/action. Responsible for coordinating and maintaining the content of the Miami Dade College Course Catalog and Degree Audit database. This individual ensures integration of academic requirements for all MDC programs and is responsible for accuracy and integrity of student academic information in compliance with established policies and procedures, and accurate maintenance of curriculum changes and updates affecting program content and student academic progression, transfer and graduation.
