      Rialto Police Explorer Volunteer

      The Rialto Police Explorer Program is designed to teach and mentor youth between the ages of 14-21 in different aspects of law enforcement. As police explorer with the city of Rialto, I had the opportunity to work several DUI Checkpoints, attend several police ride-a-longs, and be actively involved with the community of Rialto. The police explorer program also trained me with several police tactics. Those tactics involve PED checks, felony/regular vehicles traffic stops, activate shooter and officer down situations, and crime scene investigation.       The Public Safety Internship Academy is an 32 week youth leadership course designed to teach and mentor youth between the ages of 16 and 17 in different aspects of Law Enforcement. As an Intern for this program I had the opportunity to learn about report writing, culture differences, CPR and First Aid, crime scene investigation, fire prevention, basic penal codes, lifetime fitness, vehicle stops, weaponless defense, and verbal judo.

      Working for the city of Rialto as a Community Service Leader, my job assignments involved planning, organizing, and developing programs for adults and kids. Additionally, I responsible for setting up and breaking down events, teaching and educating kids about lifetime fitness, providing customer service to various customers, and connecting the community of Rialto with different resources.

      As a Custody Officer, I am responsible for the transportation of prisoners to the local county jail. I am also responsible for the booking of property, safe-guarding “jail checks” and processing paperwork. In addition, I have the responsibility of the welfare and safety of the prisoners while in my custody.
