    • National Engineering Services Pakistan (Pvt) Limited (NESPAK)

      Jun 2022 - Jul 2022
      Engineer Intern

During my four-week internship, I had the opportunity to visit various construction projects, including the Low Cost Housing Project at Farash Town Islamabad, the Construction of an Additional Block at Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and a week spent at the NESPAK office. Through this experience, I gained valuable knowledge and skills, including the ability to accurately read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and develop models in Revit, as well as conducting on-site framework inspections. Additionally, I gained experience in reading foundation drawings, conducting Pile Load Tests, working with anchor supported scent piles, and performing on-site bentonite testing. Furthermore, I gained knowledge in the application of PPRA rules for bidding and FIDIC Contracts, and successfully drafted a simple contract using the FIDIC Green Book. Show less

      Aug 2022 - Jul 2024
      Structural Engineering Researcher

As a Graduate Research Assistant in Structural Engineering at GIK Institute. I work under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hafiz Ahmed Waqas and researchers worldwide on various structural engineering research projects. I have worked on projects such as the "Numerical Investigation of Critical Scour Depth for Bridge Structures Considering Seismic Effects and Soil-Structure Interaction," aiming to find the critical scour depth—the minimum depth at which the seismic performance of a bridge is governed by the foundation instead of the column—that induces the maximum seismic reaction during dynamic loading.Throughout my academic journey, I have actively engaged in various structural engineering research projects, including my final year undergraduate research project “Application of Finite Element Method (FEM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Response-Based Assessment of Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column Connections,” focused on applying finite element modeling and artificial intelligence to enhance the seismic performance of reinforced concrete beam-column connections. The project explored various reinforcement configurations as alternatives to conventional shear stirrups in the joint area which aimed to address the challenge of reinforcement congestion in the joint area during concrete placement, which can compromise earthquake resistance. Further, a cost-effective method was proposed for strengthening vulnerable exterior beam-column joints in RC structures against seismic failure by introducing a perforated steel haunch system. Lastly, a reliable and user-friendly predictive model was developed for estimating the capacity of RC beam-column joints using Gene Expression Programming (GEP). Show less
