      ATLAS detector trigger system, that involves signal compaction and classification with pattern recognition techniques. More specifically identifying electrons instead jets that are associated to the detector noise. As the interested particle is rare the problem has high dimensionality. So the processing must be efficient enough to deal with.

      The movement of the microorganisms is filmed through the a camera coupled to an optic microscope. A program, using image digital processing techniques, was developed to detect them, allowing the tracking of the trajectory described by them and also the calculation of parameters such as magnitude and inclination of the resulting velocity vector in each frame of video. Fourier transform is performed.

      Testing of the Central Trigger Calibration system of the CERN's ATLAS detector, including firmware testing as well as the whole electronic project developed for the system. Sub-detectors simulated signals were generated and sent to the calibration system by VME interface. At the end of the LHC turn the system decide which one will be calibrated based on the LUT (Look Up Table) stored in the FPGA.
