      Medical Billing Specialist

Starting as a first year biller, I was trained on Hospice and Homecare billing. I have developed processes and procedures related to both, ensuring our department complies with all Medicare and ILMD regulations. I am responsible for ensuring timely billing and processing of claims, denial management, and precertification of commercial and Medicare Advantage insurances. I have learned the many unique aspects of Medicare in regards to Hospice regulations, as well as Homecare FFS and Episodic billing. As Medicare continues to evolve in these areas, I am charged with keeping up to date on regulations and processes to maximize our billing and receivables, while still providing the best care possible to our patients. I also bill for our local Fire Department, and have become very familiar with the unique challenges related to billing emergency services. Show less
