      Principal

Educational leader of a Kindergarten - 4th grade elementary school of approximately 425 students, with a staff of about 40 teachers and support personnel. During my years as a principal, I initiated processes that affected not only an entire school of children, but also their parents and the community. This included the responsibility of recommending for hire highly effective teachers, which research indicates is one of the most critical factors in student achievement. These initiatives helped move Enon Elementary’s rating on the Ohio School Report Card from Continuous Improvement to Excellent. Show less

      Dec 2010 - Sept 2019
      Executive Director Human Resources

As Forest Hills School District Executive Director of Human Resources, I took great pride in being a part of a destination school district for educators and support personnel. Employees came to Forest Hills and typically stayed for many years because of the high quality of students, caring and supportive parents and community, and outstanding leadership provided by the Board of Education and the administrative team. Our Human Resources Department performs a variety of functions for staff including recruitment, selection and hiring, postings, background checks, certification/licensure, leaves of absence, personnel files, tuition reimbursement, student teachers and substitute teachers. Also, many district-wide activities are the responsibility of the Human Resources Department. Among these are overseeing the following: demographics/student enrollment, master contracts/negotiations, and student intra-district transfer requests. Two primary goals are always at the forefront of our Human Resources Department: identifying talented individuals for employment and supporting the certified, classified and administrative staffs.
