      Energy Process Engineer

      Viability study of a Vapour Compression Distillation Unit. The study involved simulating the process using DWSIM as software. Energy and material balances were performed to minimise the energy consumption. The best evaporating pressure has been chosen by performing a sensitivity study on the process. Vessel sizing was also performed based on simulations data and available scientific literature.

      Energy Engineer

      My aim was to develop an energy model to analyse the heating demand of a certain area to reduce fuel poverty. Fuel poverty is the condition of spending 10% or more of the household income to heat the very same household. The model is based on several statistical data and scientific publications. Weather data, GIS, population, amount of households and their typology are an example of the data used to build the model. Part of the study involved the calculation of heating costs for that specific area, for each methodology (e.g. pellets, oil burned, electricity, etc.). The final cost for heating demand of each household typology and for the whole village was then found. The obtained results were used to properly size storage tanks and distribution grid. A discounted payback analysis was also conducted in order to assess economical feasibility. Show less
