This was a project led by Keith Sayer, working with Gráinne McEvoy (writer) and Jennifer Lechtanski (visual designer), who comprised the institute's communications team. Artwork was provided by David Despau, a renowned illustrator from Spain. This piece was designed to reflect the Nanovic Institute's strategic plan, including sections on fostering the education of students, elevating the institute's research profile, collaborating with partners across the university and internationally, and conversing through a vibrant and inclusive academic community. The center story centered on the seminal events of the year, including the signature conference "Reimagining Europe from Its Peripheries," a major milestone in the institute's development of its identity within European studies. Director Clemens Sedmak framed the piece through this very theme in his introduction and conclusion. This publication was designed to focus on the "faces" and, thus, the "people" of European studies at Notre Dame. It is both a celebration and an inspiration for the future. Show less
