  Title: Evaluation of new postharvest fungicides for the control of Phytophthora brown rot.Objectives:1. Collect Phytophthora nicotianae isolates from citrus orchards and determine in vitro baseline sensitivity of isolates to azoxystrobin and fludioxonil.2. Test various zoospore production protocols to reliably produce zoospores and develop a fruit inoculation technique for postharvest trials.3. Determine the curative and preventative ability of fludioxonil, azoxystrobin and potassium phosphite postharvest treatments against Phytophthora infections.4. Determine if fludioxonil and azoxystrobin postharvest treatments in wax can prevent transfer of Phytophthora brown rot through the nesting effect in a packing carton. Show less
