      Mar 2001 - Jan 2004
      Programme Manager, EDS Transformation

During this period I undertook a variety of projects following the RBS takeover of NatWest. This included managing the relationship between IT projects and the Business operation units which importantly ensuring that people received effective training and communications etc. Following this I managed several projects to move clearing operations from central London to Milton Keynes. This involved site build, migration plans, cutover weekend planning, making sure the businesses knew what was coming etc. The moves to MK were very successful leading to the closing of the London site. • IBM

      Jan 2004 - Jul 2018

My contract is part of IBM Global Technology Services, TCV $75m, focused on data centre ownership and support and cyber security. We are aiming to migrate from a traditional infrastructure to a Cloud solution to help clients to improve service, reduce complexity and to allow them to move forward with their digital programme.I am responsible for ALL aspects of the IBM contract which includes top level relationships with the client – CIO level – for all aspects of IBM delivery; delivery to SLAs; escalation point for everything; transformation programme delivery; delivery of projects; commercials (contract changes, compliance); financials – responsible for P&L; growth – expected to grow the account by c20% on backlog; and innovation – goal to bring the whole of IBM to the client.I have successfully maintained the existing contract and SLAs and I’m now focused on getting the client round the table to discuss options to improve the financials for IBM and the risk position for the client. Show less I worked with a UK Banking Group as part of an IBM Programme to transition their back-office mainframe batch processing to IBM from Oct 2016 to a successful transition in March 2017. I was responsible for ensuring recruitment and training of the IBM staff was completed on time, the Bank staff who were transferring to IBM were set up and ready to go and importantly I was responsible for managing the transition dry-runs and migration weekend. The outcome was a tremendous success for what was seen to be the biggest risk to the wider programme. This role involved negotiating with the bank for training and access and involved many senior discussions and risk assessments. Show less This was a very successful year (2016) where I achieved all of my targets. I was also a member of the IBM 100% Club 2016.I was accountable for several IBM Infrastructure Services contracts, including multiple infrastructure projects and Network delivery. I headed the achievement of growth, revenue and profit targets for IBM Infrastructure Services as part of a larger Global contract with revenues of c$400m pa. My part was c$15m pa. I managed commercial and contract control, audit and governance compliance and successfully renewed several contracts for 2016 with a TCV of $10m and ensured successful delivery of the Mainframe upgrade project. Show less I was responsible for the delivery of all IBM services in a large IT outsourcing contract (Top 5 in the UK for IBM) with revenue of $60m per annum with significant transformation to Cloud delivery and Applications rationalisation. At the end of my tenure, the transformation was on track, with good customer satisfaction ratings and all SLAs being exceeded. I also managed the commercial and contract control, audit and governance compliance and was responsible for adherence to IBM rules and guidelines to satisfy internal and external auditors. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: I managed c400 people based in India, UK and Eastern Europe and undertook biannual visits to IndiaSUPPLIER MANAGEMENT: I developed strong relationships with suppliers, conducting effective negotiations and managed adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Show less The key outcome from this role was that I successfully lead the transformation, financial turnaround and introduction of an effective customer relationship framework, both with customer satisfaction and delivery performance. This substantial turnaround started with understanding the way of working, ensuring efficient delivery of current work and getting all sides to agree the way forward. My standing with the customer meant I had a critical role during the renegotiation of the contract (total value $300m). Following signature, with my team, I successfully lead the transformation, delivering on time and to the £18m budget. The work including moving 3 customer datacentres into 2 IBM DCs and upgrading all infrastructure, resulting in a 60-point improvement in profit and it is still profitable to this day. I was also a proactive member of the team delivering Masterclasses to develop the next Senior Executives of IBM in line with the company’s talent management programme and was recognised by these awards: ♦ Project Executive of the Year Award – for successfully managing a Transformation project [2013]♦ Winner of IBM Sales Eminence Award 2011 & 2010♦ Member of IBM 100% Club 2011, 2010 & 2009 Show less An interesting and challenging role. I was responsible for revenue, growth, profit and customer satisfaction, working with 300 staff worldwide who provided the services. IBM provided hosting services to 45 accounts, many nationally known names in the UK. The services include Applications hosting, storage services and co-location facilities. Total contract value was $200m. To improve profit performance, I re-organised the business by splitting the accounts into those with growth potential and the more steady accounts and reduced the management overheads accordingly bringing about a 20-point improvement in the profit margin. I had a very successful year in signing additional business of TCV $89m representing 12% growth and achieved revenue targets.I was also a member of the mentoring team for the IBM Top Talent Programme designed with the aim of fast tracking future leaders into senior positions - I mentored 3 people.
