    • Haydens Bakery Ltd

      May 1997 - Jan 2008
      Line leader

During my second job role at this prestigious bakery I worked on lines using flow wrappers, injection machines, Hobart mixers, artifex mixers, and various ovens. During my time at the Bakery I was promoted to line leader through my own efforts, and this gave me the opportunity to develop my people management skills and team work building. I was responsible for keeping accurate records and daily paper work; leading team briefings to a team of approximately 25 staff to ensure strong communication within the factory; closely monitoring quality control of our products and recognising where improvements could be made to production capacity; and reducing wastage . Technically I performed well with targets and always strived to improve the performance of my team and therefore benefit the factory as a whole. I also studied for a Level 3 Qualification in Baking and Confectionary. Show less

      Technician

A varied role involving maintaining & managing multi production lines in order to maintain required outputs and hit targets, working in distribution operating robotic equipment. Participate in Daily and Standard Operational Reviews and SORs. Problem solving using tools and the methodologies like GSTD's. Continuous improvements through on going projects like TPM which I am heavily evolved in and play a key role. Responsible for writing and publishing SOPs for the bespoke machinery we use within the factory which demonstrates both my technical knowledge and PC skills. I am able to work alone and am good at managing my own time and motivating myself, however I also work well alongside others including our engineers and other technicians both practically and on other projects. I have developed a working knowledge of the SAP and SAM systems used in the factory. This role also requires the creation of 5S maps, SHE maps, writing cleaning standards and coaching other team members. Due to my approachable personality and excellent communication skills I have been asked on several occasions to coach new starters in the areas I work in as I have an excellent working knowledge of the machinery involved and am able to model correct procedures to support new starters with their training. I have recently completed the CPUK ‘Managing People’ course which included coaching skills to further my people management skills and I am keen to put this into practical use. Show less
