  I completed my practical work experience with Fletcher Construction as part of their internship programme. I worked primarily on the quality control of the construction of reinforced capping beams and walers for the retaining the piles installed along the Southern Approach trench for the Waterview Tunnel in Auckland.

  While still studying for my degree in Civil Engineer, I worked as a Student Site Engineer on the foundation works for the Fonterra 6 storey head office building in Auckland, as part of the Fletcher Construction Internship Programme. This included; bored pile foundations, temporary sheet pile retaining walls and an adjacent basement car park building with diaphragm wall and strand anchors.

  Richardson Terrace Pump StationI was the primary Site Engineer for the construction of a new pump station located in Christchurch. I was involved in the project for the duration of the onsite works. The project involves the construction of 3 underground structures and 1 above ground pump station designed to help improve the water quality of runoff into the Heathcote river. I have been primarily involved in the construction management, quality control and set out for the main construction works including but not limited to; deep excavations requiring complex temporary works and dewatering, construction of reinforced water proof concrete structures and installation of stormwater drainage and outfall pipe work.Canterbury Earthquake Memorial WallThe Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial is the memorial for those killed or seriously injured in the 22 February 2011 Christchurch earthquake. I was based onsite through the duration of the construction works including the project start up and closeout. Throughout the project I was responsible for the management and quality control of temporary works, dewatering, excavations, structural elements and finishing works. As the H&S representative for the site, I was also responsible for ensuring all subcontractors and BPC employees had identified all site hazards and practiced safe procedures. I became heavily involved in stakeholder management and developed a strong relationship with the client. The project was completed and opened as programmed on the anniversary of the 22nd February Earthquake.   As a design engineer, my role involves assisting projects with TW design for various McConnell Dowell projects. Hunua 4 - Section 11This project was the last section of the Hunua 4 pipeline which delivered water from the Hunua ranges to the water reservoirs at Khyber Pass in Auckland City. My role involved managing the delivery of the open cut trenching works, CLS pipe installations inside the tunnels and shafts, and the first stage grouting of the annulus for tunnel 1.
