Organizing and facilitating laboratory equipment preparation, maintenance, chemical organization and stock, and mixing needed chemicals or enzymes for the General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry Laboratories. Offers a one hour Organic Chemistry class twice a week covering material mandated by the department faculty member under which I work to give additional instruction, reinforce concepts, review problems, and provide study preparation. Provide additional tutoring throughout the semester during midterms and finals in the fields of General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biology. Assisted in making proper media, identification, and culturing of Paenibacillus for honey bee phage therapy to prevent colony illness and collapse. Identified, sexed, and collected samples from local Pennsylvanian Passeriformes using sterile techniques to assist in a qPCR Assay for fecal sex determination of wild avians. Assisted a professor with research on specific plant growth promoting bacteria found in lawns and the effects of increased bacterial concentrations in relation to urea degrading ability of the bacteria in hopes to prevent grass death in lawns. Aided in the preparation of media, bacterial isolation, protocol planning, and culturing of various skin micro-biome bacteria such as Corynebacterium, Staphylococcus, and Propionibacterium and the effects of various forms of sunscreen on our skin's natural bacteria.
