Activities and Societies: It is difficult to imagine the life today without the presence of any product obtained from the petrochemical industry. This industry, which uses petroleum or natural gas derivatives as raw material, brings us comfort, without imagining how much technology and knowledge are involved in the simplest things. There are products from petrochemical industry in clothing, mattresses, packaging for food and medicines, toys, furniture and appliances, cars, airplanes and even in shampoos and cosmetics. In this thesis a work focused on alternatives for the separation of olefin/paraffin is being developed. The conventional cryogenic distillation are extremely demanding for the ethane/ethylene and propane/propylene separations, because these pairs of olefin/paraffin possesses a very close boiling points.
