  Directed a team of safety, health, environmental, quality assurance and remediation professionals. We worked to ensure all of our employees, contractors and the public went about their daily lives in a zero harm culture that strived for compliance in all of its many facets. The group improved interaction with the environment by developing relationships and understanding with stakeholders so work could proceed as needed with no unnecessary impact to our resources. Finally, we worked to remediate legacy sites, created in the days before most of us were born and anyone knew better, so that our children can enjoy them. While in this role I worked with every employee and contractor to improve safety ownership. Our Injury Incident Rate went from 2.42 to 0.88 during my tenure, our lowest ever. We also achieved our lowest DART (days away - restricted time) from over 2,000 days per year to below 50. Show less Manage a union and management work force that strategically implements the Vegetation Management, Electric Transmission and Distribution Inspection, and Contractor Electric Construction Programs. Our team of project managers and contract inspectors supervise over $100 million of contracts for vegetation management and electric T&D projects. We maintain over 500 miles of transmission ROW in accordance with our Transmission Vegetation Maintenance Plan, which is maintained and submitted to regulators. The distribution vegetation management program is performed on a 3-year cycle in 3 states on over 5,000 circuit miles. Over $10 million in capital Electric T&D construction projects are planned and implemented on an annual basis for our contractor workforce. We also implement the 10-year pole inspection program and our union workforce maintains and operates our 69 to 500 kv transmission system. This requires that we implement NERC standards in support of the Bulk Electric Supply (BES) for the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC) and Reliability First Corporation (RFC). During emergency restoration we coordinate obtaining mutual aid and contractor electric construction crews and their distribution within the company's 3 service territories. During hurricane Sandy I coordinated over 1,300 mutual aid line men and 600 tree trimmers as they assisted in restoring 250,000 (83%) of our customers and repairing 27 (30%) of our transmission lines.
