I maintain and continuously improve the mid- to long-range production planning business process for a large upstream facility. Specific accomplishments include:- Deliver a long-range production on an annual basis including development of an assumptions document, long range maintenance plan, and technical presentations to communicate the finalized plan.- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and reliability to develop a long-range maintenance plan and support the translation of this plan into the budget. Show less I managed the energy modelling process (short, mid-, long-range) for developing and tracking performance against energy targets and managed the logistics of procuring and delivering a product to a remote site including volume nomination, scheduling, and ensuring product quality. Specific accomplishments include:- Collaborated with upstream schedulers to resolve temporary and time sensitive operational constraint impacting pipeline movements of critical products to the site.- Optimized the quality analysis of a delivered product to reduce cost and improve analysis turnaround time.- Modified the energy model to incorporate a more accurate energy balance of the site and monitored the outputs against actuals to ensure accuracy.- Coordinated chemical logistics and supported project timelines for installation of temporary equipment at site. Show less I managed the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventories for four upstream oil sands facilities, forecasted energy consumption and GHG emissions for new projects, and supported development of long-term GHG goals. Specific accomplishments included:- Modified and rebuilt existing GHG methodologies to align with updates to both Provincial and Federal regulatory requirements or due to changing plan configurations. I ensured a smooth transition from the Carbon Competitiveness Incentive Regulation (CCIR) to the Technology Innovation and Emission Reduction (TIER) Regulation, aligned venting calculations to meet the newly released of TIER Chapter 4 (venting), and rebuilt a fuel gas calculation to better align with the regulation.- Managed the greenhouse gas compliance reporting process for four facilities, including resource planning, scheduling, responding to information requests in a timely manner, and providing technical site-specific expertise to the third-party verifier where required.- Developed GHG and energy forecasts for the long range business planning process for upstream oil sands facilities (in situ, mining, and upgrading) and for new project evaluations focused on new technologies.- Supported the GHG and energy data collection process and validation for external sustainability disclosures (Sustainability Report, DJSI, CDP). Show less As an environmental engineering co-op with the Performance Improvement Group, I support senior engineers in the technical analysis greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for carbon policy purposes and support the GHG goal strategy. My responsibilities and accomplishments include:- Calculated and maintained greenhouse gas emission inventories for four upstream facilities under the TIER Regulation and updated the calculations to account for changing plant configurations and updated regulatory requirements.- Developed GHG and energy forecasts for the business planning process for upstream oil sands facilities and project evaluations.- Supported the technical analysis of current and potential greenhouse gas (GHG) emission policies and regulations for Alberta facilities to determine economic impacts- Supported GHG goal strategy including environmental project portfolio management, sustainability planning, and energy modelling Show less
