  § Provides a range of assistance to beneficiaries and inquirers by telephone and by correspondence regarding all programs administered by the Social Security Administration. Since this is a service position, there is a wide-range of duties we are required to perform and be knowledgeable of 100% of the time by utilizing SSA (social insurance) laws, regulations, policy, and procedures to resolve these issues. This includes resolving routine technical and post adjudicative issues involving disability claims for T2 and T16. § Responsible for interviewing beneficiaries, inquirers, and/or their representatives in order to determine the nature of their problem or interest. § Provides beneficiaries with information, advice or instructions about eligibility and benefits paid under retirement, survivors, disability, and Medicare insurance programs; and Supplemental Security income. § Adjudicates T16 claims in the form of the Abbreviated Application (ABAP). More extensively, this is a shortened SSI application used to formally deny SSI claims for nonmedical reasons when callers allege information that clearly results in ineligibility. § Furnishes information to inquirers about disability work incentive provisions, compliance with the various beneficiaries’ reporting requirements, and submitting appropriate reports to continue, suspend or terminate monthly benefits under the T2/T16/T18 programs. By researching and using the appropriate queries, I am able to explain how work and/or income affect eligibility for benefits under for programs, i.e. extended periods of eligibility (EPE) and/or continuing disability reviews (CDR). If it is determined that disability benefits cease, I am able to explain the appeals process to beneficiaries. If there are issues that cannot be resolved by researching the queries, I have the ability to analyze the situation and make referrals to the appropriate specialist. § I am required to develop, document and resolve Title XVI overpayments.
