I was promoted to the KS3 Learning Mentoring department, where I supported children with social, emotional and behavioural issues. I created programmes of work and interventions to help keep pupils on target for good GCSE results.

  In this post, I began as a residential children’s home support worker helping children with severe behaviour and social difficulties. I gained several qualifications including first aid, fire safety, health and social care, safeguarding, and substance misuse. I was promoted to deputy manager of several children’s homes including a 16years and above, semi-independent service for children with mental health issues and youth offences.

  I started my teaching career as a cover teacher working across both key stages in September 2013. I then progressed to a KS2 class teacher in September 2014. During the academic year of 2015/16, I was awarded an extra teaching and learning responsibility and I’m currently the Computing subject coordinator. I have extensive experience working with children with special educational needs and who have English as an additional language in a very multicultural and diverse setting.

  In my current post, I am responsible for the pastoral care of over 240 students and the leadership of the Year 8 Tutor team. As a member of the pastoral team, I helped to develop effective processes to manage behaviour and academic success whilst maintaining a positive presence around the school campus. In this role, I have developed teachers practise and communicated effectively constructive criticism to improve standards. I have gained a wealth of experience dealing with general pastoral complaints from the school community. In collaboration with SENCOs and Heads of Departments, I have overseen the implementation of Access to Learning plans for students to ensure high performance learning. Having previously held the position of Head of Year 7, I have experience dealing with KS2 transition and I am currently responsible for 2020 transition. Show less
