      Academic Club Representative

My first position on student leadership, the experience of being an academic club rep taught me how to be a leader, to work in groups, to get projects accomplished, and to support the activities the student association put on. I assisted in marketing strategies, social media, informing students, recruiting students, collaborating on events and designs, participating in events, volunteering to supervise events, organizing student clubs on campus, activating and encouraging club membership, allotting student funds to worthy causes in student clubs, doing administrative work to keep track of 8-15 clubs I was assigned to, and sharing my passion for Dixie State with others. • Riggatti's Saint George

      Nov 2012 - Nov 2013
      Pizzaiola

I began working at Riggatti's when the business was just opening in Saint George. As a pizzaiola (pizza maker), my duties included teamwork to quickly make wood-fired pizza; initiative and foresight to see what dishes needed to be cleaned or what vegetables needed to be cut up without being asked; and excellent customer service to provide everyone who came in with a friendly atmosphere and fabulous food. I became a valuable member of the close-knit team, supervised and trained new workers, and promoted the business in my personal life. Not only that, but I can toss a pizza in the air like a champ! • Dixie State University

      Jun 2013 - May 2015

As a tutor in the Writing Center, I consulted with students of all ages, cultures and nationalities to improve their individual writing skills. We focus on the process of writing and improving skills, not editing or proofreading for every mistake. In the Writing Center, I've had a chance to communicate and counsel with people from all over the world, as well as use social media and website maintenance skills to update and promote the Writing Center in the digital world. I was often called on to present to English classes about the Writing Center and encourage students to take advantage of our services. Show less As an administrative assistant to the Student VP of Academics, I maintained workflow by taking minutes at weekly Senate meetings and publishing them. I managed communication between the Senate, coordinating schedules, planning events, and keeping everyone on task. I assisted students with information about student government and represented the student voice on academic committees. I created flyers, spreadsheets, documents, and filing systems. I anticipated the needs of others in my organization and proactively worked to fill them. I used my exceptional communication skills to get my tasks done and contribute well to my team. Show less

      Apr 2014 - Aug 2014
      Front Desk Agent

As a front desk agent, I acted as the "face" of this professional and guest-centered hospitality business. I coordinated with all the members of my team, communicating effectively with both team members and guests to provide quality service. I assisted guests in making reservations and reviewed, analyzed and prepared records, adhering to hotel guidelines and policies. I acted as the personal administrative assistant to the owner of the hotel, responding to guest emails, answering questions, and speaking as the official representative of the company with many travel agencies, online booking companies, and potential customers. I also was a key player in building the hotel social network on more than a dozen websites such as TripAdvisor, Facebook and Airbnb, as well as the hotel's own website. My marketing efforts led to Inn on the Cliff rising to the rank of #1 out of the 42 St. George hotels on TripAdvisor, as well as significant growth on Facebook. I participated as a vital team member in our goal of increasing hotel occupancy from 50% to 70% in one month, and we achieved our 3-month goal of 85% occupancy. I consistently used my service-oriented personality as I attended to the needs of guests staying at the hotel, reaching out to them and helping make their experience one-of-a-kind. I utilized initiative to look around, intuit what tasks need to be done, and get ahead of schedule on all the little things that go along with running a luxury hotel. Show less
