  • About me

Training & Account Manager at Beanworks

  • Education

    • Bradley Stoke Community School

      2011 - 2013

I had to approach education from independence and work off of my own volition as opposed to being spoon-fed my education.

    • University of the West of England

      2013 - 2017
      Primary Education (ITE) Education N/A

Activities and Societies: N/A As part of one of the most demanding courses that the university has to offer I have spent 25 weeks in schools. I have had to be professional, prepared and a risk taker in order to succeed. This has worked in tandem with the rigorous academics to give me a well roundedness that suits any role.

  • Experience

    • Self Employed, Education.

      Oct 2008 - Sept 2021
      Music Teacher

My business of teaching music started with a student from the bus home from school and went from there: 20+ long term students from the ages of 5 - 64 years old, from all backgrounds and all abilities/capabilities. The skills developed in my decade of being self employed have not been limited to the mere teaching of piano, bass and guitar. I have learnt the art of managing my time, acquiring clients and pitching myself to potential customers, giving me keen insight into how businesses scale and work. Show less

As a part of my service there I ran Fridaynight youth programmes for 100+ young people, organised catering for events of500+ people and flown around the world to assist in various youth and young adultsprogrammes. As a very outward focussed church, I have engaged with vulnerablecommunities across the globe and worked in partnerships to help them. Show less

    • Young Bristol

      Jun 2014 - Aug 2018
      National Citizen Service Wave Leader

I have worked within the National Citizen Service framework since its introduction in 2014 and have gained a wealth of experience from this ambitious project. The four week programme is open to all 16-18 year olds in Bristol and the surrounding area. Taking them through a one week residential at an activity centre, another residential at university halls and finally a two week long social action project of their choosing. This year I was responsible for an entire cohort of young people from a large variety of backgrounds and a team of first-time leaders. This meant being responsible the person responsible for the majority activities on the sites and for keeping contact with oversight from Bristol throughout. Show less

    • Monarch Education Recruitment

      May 2016 - Feb 2019
      Supply Teacher

The most challenging thing that I ever chose to do was to be a supply teacher: hostileclasses, difficult school structures and constantly being ready for the next thing. I developed a practice and standard of teaching that refused to let the former be the norm. I prepared a bag full of tricks, did my preparation and bought a fancy suit. I became one of the most professional and efficient teachers on the books at the agency and was sent to schools as a first impression because of this fact.

    • REGIONAL GAMES LTD.

      Apr 2017 - Oct 2019
      Assistant Site Manager

Imagine ‘It’s a Knockout’ in a field next to a farm shop; hosts take groups of stag andhen parties around a load of inflatable activities. I’ve been a part of the team for two years and I’ve advanced to the role of assistant site manager; taking responsibility for avariety of administrative and practical tasks. The work is lively and very people orientedwhilst also requiring some graft when we have to set up and pack down the 20ft inflatables

    • Costa Coffee

      Oct 2018 - Feb 2019
      Barista

Costa coffee needs no introduction: one of the most successful high street coffee chains in the UK, recently acquired by Coca Cola as their first foray into the market of hot drinks. The standard is kept by their rigorous barista training programme that all baristas have to pass in order to advance in the company. It’s in this environment I entered as a trained barista already and learned how the company worked at a ground level: interaction with customers, maintaining a clean and safe environment and exercising hospitality at a pace. The store I work at is the most profitable and busiest store in the South West and is famously difficult to work at with anywhere from 500-600 customers a day. Show less
