  I worked on a project to change the method of manufacture of over 200 aerospace parts from casting to machining. The parts were components of Bombardier Aerospace's CRJ, Q400, Challenger and Global Aircraft, as well as the V2500, Trent and BR710 Nacelles.This assignment involved: - Creating 3D models of the detail parts, from their 2D drawings, using Solid Works CAD package. - Creating billets for each part from their model in MasterCam for the programming team to then use to create the CNC programme for each part. - First Article Production Plan / First Article Inspection Plan for the package of work Show less

  This role in the Chemical and Environmental Technology Team was concentrated on the management of various Innovate UK and ATI funded R&D projects. I was Bombardier’s project leader in various UK aerospace R&D consortia, and also represented the company in global aerospace groups such as the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG). I led projects from initial funding application through implementation to completion. The primary objective of my position was the testing and qualification of alternative materials and processes which are compliant with REACH legislation. Show less A 9-month assignment based in Dallas, Texas, USA, providing Project Management support to a Tier 1 supplier, Triumph Aerostructures. The supplier had the responsibility of designing, producing and certifying the wing for the Global 7000 business jet. The role was to manage the design, production and delivery of the flight controls, which the supplier had sub-contracted to various suppliers throughout the World, and involved:• Liaison with Triumph Aerostructures and its suppliers to ensure technical and operational objectives of the Global 7000 Wing program were achieved.• Reporting formally and informally to Bombardier and Triumph Executives• Liaison with Bombardier Flight Test Centre to ensure the delivery of components met the dynamic requirements of the Flight Test Program.• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team• Management of all issues from initial design through to Bombardier’s Global Aircraft Final Assembly Line in Toronto. Show less This role was focussed on the provision of engineering support to the Airbus A220 (formerly Bombardier CSeries) Composite Wing factory. I worked on R&D projects studying various methods of surface preparation of RTI (Resin Transfer Infusion) composite wing skins and spars prior to paint, and also researched and tested the use of infrared to accelerate the cure of coatings on CFRP structures. I was involved in the set-up of the paint facility in the factory ensuring that the new facilities met engineering requirements, while providing surface preparation and coating application training to the new paint shop personnel. The role also involved working closely with coatings and paint suppliers, and providing technical support to Tier 1 Suppliers that supplied into the factory. My level of support to the factory also included supporting the assembly side of Operations and offering my technical knowledge around sealing and shimming processes. Show less
