      Sept 2015 - Apr 2016
      Teaching Assistant

During the Fall 2015 term I was tutorial leader for The Films of Martin Scorsese, and in Winter 2016 for Introduction to Cinema Studies and a course on Canadian filmmakers David Cronenberg and Denis Villeneuve. For the Scorsese course, I led two back-to-back tutorials of about 25-30 students each, and was responsible for the weekly film screenings. I facilitated student engagement in the course by preparing discussion questions on the material, including PowerPoint slides with excerpts from the readings, and showing relevant film clips. I also acted as a liaison between students and the course instructor, responding to inquiries about assignments and holding office hours. Additional duties included marking essays and offering constructive feedback, and entering marks to Blackboard (learning management system). During the Winter 2016 term for Intro to Cinema and the course on Cronenberg and Villeneuve, I balanced leading tutorial, marking assignments, and screening duties between 4 tutorial sections of approximately 30 students each.
