Directed expense Finance for 5 business lines, including company’s largest selling publications with a combined $100M in expenses. Performed budgeting, forecasting, monthly reconciliations, and journal entries for monthly close and reporting.   Company: World’s largest magazine publisher and owner of TV & radio stations across the U.S.I was initially employed with Time Inc., which was acquired by Meredith in 2018, and steered a Finance team during periods of change, including high growth, acquisitions, divestitures, consolidations, and the recent major acquisition by Meredith. My staff of 7 in the U.S. and India executed a broad range of complex analytics projects linked to strategic business goals and provided sound insights/recommendations to senior management and P&L leaders.At peak, I directed budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting activities for approximately $500M in expenses of 27 print magazines, including Time, Fortune, Money, Entertainment Weekly, and People (the world’s largest revenue-producing magazine).Following acquisition by Meredith, I was asked to stay on and work with the new owner’s finance teams to facilitate the transition and complete P&Ls and balance sheet reconciliations. Highlights:• Recommended and consolidated production finance function from 3 separate groups into a single entity for improved consistency, accuracy, and overall efficiency and assumed leadership of the combined function. Strategy was subsequently used as a template to centralize all of Finance. • Supported senior management on a strategic initiative to transform company into a growth business. Served as finance lead on team that delivered 7% repeatable cost savings on a goal of 5%. • One of few members of finance group to be retained for divested titles after acquisition.
