  After completing my first year as an NQT and achieving full QTS, I went on to teach a for a total of three years. I taught PE at KS3, KS4 and KS5, both core PE lessons and BTEC Sport at KS5. I was the only teacher delivering A-Level Psychology, working with two AS groups and one A2 group. I also engaged in a number of whole school events on site and was involved in international school trips.

  At the The Cornwallis Academy I was Head of Psychology and a teacher of Critical Thinking. In Psychology I worked with A-Level and GCSE groups, while in Critical Thinking I worked only with A-Level, AS and A2. This was my first role with leadership responsibilities, which included handling the departmental budget, performance management, organising CPD for other staff and myself and ensuring textbooks and other necessary materials were available.   As a Lecturer in Psychology, I delivered conversion courses in Psychology at level 3, providing tutorials and workshops as well as marking extended essays and assessing verbal presentations. Students were completing this as part of a course in Health Care and the focus of much of the Psychology was Health in relation to Cognitive, Social and Biological approaches.

  After arriving as a teacher of ESL, I moved into a recruitment position at Wall Street English. This role involved recruiting English teachers for 19 schools (approximately 80 teachers in total). The responsibilities included sourcing, interviewing, managing candidates, understanding visa regulations and assisting in communicating related information. During this time I was able to increase regional headcount by 20% and build experience and connections within recruitment.

  As team leader I am responsible for an excellent group of consultants made up of four nationalities and ranging from senior to associate level. Explore CRS has been working with major international schools in China, South East Asia and the Middle East for the last eight years and as a former attendee of an Explore CRS job fair, its a great pleasure to be leading the team now. My role involves developing our business strategy, internal training and development and performance management through internal review and our Bullhorn CRM.A key part of my job is to ensure we keep providing and improving on the personalised and tailored service we try to offer our client schools, many of whom have become loyal customer and friends. Our ability to help candidates find a position through our database, referral service or Shanghai and UAE job fairs is a crucial and rewarding part of mine and my colleagues role. Show less In the role of in-house recruitment manager for Dipont Education, I am hiring educators across Dipont's 20 high school programs in different regions of China, plus academic leadership roles within the company headquarters. This includes the use of LinkedIn Recruiter and networks, working with third party agencies and use of the Recruitee ATS. I oversee the interview, background referencing checks and candidate experience and assist with the onboarding and visa process in collaboration with HR and schools.
