  As a summer intern from Texas Tech School of Engineering, my career started with designing and installing an irrigation system at Love Field Airport. In those early years, there were no standards or suppliers for irrigation systems. All the tubing was cast iron or copper pipe, and the controllers were custom designed by the irrigator for each particular job. I didn't return to Texas Tech, leaving one year before graduating, to launch a career in irrigation.Experience working at some of the most prestigious residential and commercial properties in Dallas provided me with broad scope knowledge of factors influencing water movement, along with an understanding of the market need for water control.   Allied was founded to design high performance irrigation systems for both commercial and residential customers. In the early 90’s, company resources were allocated to solve persistent drainage problems by testing and developing methods that sustained high drainage performance over the lifetime of home and commercial structures. As a result of increasing customer demand for specialized drainage solutions, Dallas Drain Company, Inc. was started, and eventually Allied Irrigation was sold.
