  Served as General Manager at three TMI Hospitality locations, progressively growing in property and team size as well as business complexity with each promotion. Managed day-to-day operations for the hotels from top to bottom. Tasks included recruiting, training, and developing employees, vendor relations and negotiations, and managing guest/client experience and problem resolution. Experience with P&L's, budgeting and forecasting, and variance reporting. I also led Revenue Management forecasting and strategy calls with our leadership and marketing teams.Opening General Manager for the beautiful Courtyard by Marriott - Kalamazoo/Portage, Michigan. I was thrilled to be asked and relocated by TMI Hospitality to serve as the Owner's Representative for this project. This 90 room new-build property opened October 1st, 2013 with 2/3 occupancy the first night and our first sell-out on our 3rd night! Our award winning team was recognized for being one of Marriott's best ramp-up hotels to open that year, one of the fastest RevPAR leaders, and as being one of the cleanest Courtyards as rated by our guests.One of the best parts of this project/hotel was our team. I had the privilege of recruiting, hiring, training, and developing one of the most guest-focused teams I have ever experienced. This team was fun to watch as they grew personally and professionally, and as they continued to pursue their career goals. Many from this team grew into leaders and were promoted to management both within our organization as well as recruited by others.Honored again when I was asked to be the Opening General Manager for the Homewood Suites by Hilton - Kalamazoo/Portage, Michigan. Opened in November of 2015, this 97 all-suite property offers extended-stay travelers a place to call home while on the road for a few days or a few months. This Hilton affiliated property is located at the intersection of Westnedge Ave and I-94, making it the mid-point between Chicago and Detroit. Show less

  Excited to be the "Facilities Guy" for Midwest Energy and Communications. Since joining the team I have been tasked with managing their beautiful first-in-class Headquarters as well as four satellite locations, three residences, and a hundred year-old schoolhouse. Day-to-day operations include preventative maintenance, budgeting and accountability, problem resolution with internal and external parties, vendor selection, and contract negotiation and execution. I also have the honor of assisting with the development of the Southwest Michigan Advanced Research & Technology Industrial Park (SMART Park) on the 400+ acres that surround our Headquarters. We are taking what started as a vision to the construction of what will soon be premiere rail-ready industrial and commercial property in Southwest Michigan. The process has included design input and review, meeting with potential vendors and tenants, easement review, RFP review, contract review and execution.Additionally, I serve as the Owner's Representative and Lead on the construction of a new territory office, warehouse, and vehicle storage garage. I have led this fast-paced Design/Build project from site selection and negotiation, RFP execution, builder selection, contract review and negotiation, design needs analysis, design review, supplier selection, and onsite decision maker.
