    • New Balance

      Dec 2004 - Aug 2008
      Fit and Wear Test Specialist

As a Fit and Wear Test Specialist for New Balance it was my responsibility to collect feedback on a variety of the company's products. This involved two types of "real world" testing protocol. We designed Fit Tests that simulated a store try on experience of athletic footwear. This allowed us to collect appropriate data relating to the fit and comfort impressions of the product. We also maintained a database of 10,000 product tester's that wore the company's athletic footwear and apparel out in the elements. These two types of tests allowed us to generate reports on the fit and wear of our products to the product development and marketing teams. While I was there, I also was responsible for the company's donation program. I was responsible for distributing excess sample product and testing products to a variety of charitable organizations. Show less

      Retail Management

I became a member of the management team at Whirlaway Sports in 2010. Whirlaway is one of New England's premier specialty footwear stores and a seven time winner of the Competitor Magazine's Top 50 Award. As sales floor manager it is my responsibility to conduct all staff trainings and maintain only the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction. I assist the lead buyer in forecasting and managing inventory for over 70 brands. I spearheaded several marketing efforts to drive retail sales. By forming relationships with dozens of community groups and corresponding businesses I am able to greatly enhance company exposure through community outreach opportunities. The doctor referral program is another collaborative effort designed by myself, that forms a consistent two way business stream between the store and health care practitioners who are seeking to get their patients in the most appropriate footwear. Engaged social media marketing through Facebook is also a responsibility of mine. This project requires cooperation with Whirlaway's lead marketing person with the primary goal to keep the company's message consistent across all platforms. I also serve as the lead on all content for the company's website. I assist the general manager in planning, organizing and managing staff for all in store events, such as Ladies Night, guest speakers, clinics and Spike Nights. Show less
