      Project Management Team of 2012 in EMEA - Olympic Games London2012 Alcatel-Lucent Jan 2013 London was the host city for the Olympic Games - and over 16,000 athletes were arriving en masse promptly on July 12. Purpose-built accommodation was built using a steel frame construction which may have facilitated construction but effectively acted as a Faraday cage - blocking mobile signals and cutting off the village. These young athletes would not be able to tweet or use their phones - a true tragedy in the making!However Alcatel Lucent had the answer using our Femto Solution. The configuration of 1,200 ALU Enterprise Femto cells around the new apartment complex, the largest and most dense deployment of 'indoor' small cells anywhere in the world. The risks were high as this has not been done before and there was no possibility of a revised timeline. This is schedule compression in practice. A very "fixed" end-date imposed on the team, with valuable added (and approved) new scope. Show less
