In charge of the development, co-ordination and implementation of the Cross-Country and Athletics programme at Surbiton High School. Alongside my role of Director of Houses, there are a number of tie in's including the annual House Cross-Country event, as well as the annual school Sports Day. Both events have undergone recent changes and transformations having surveyed and sought input from the student and staff body, as well as my own desired changes too. We are looking forward to making advancements in local and national competition. Show less - This whole school role encompasses the leadership of the House system, charity and social enterprise endeavours. It incorporates the line managing of seven Staff Heads of House and 36 Year 12 House Leaders, as well as the Council 12 Student charity leaders (10+ students). - The House leader team strategically develops opportunities for pupil leadership, charity awareness and fundraising and development through various student led House activities and the Leadership Award Scheme. - The charitable aspect of Surbiton High School seeks to raise both funds and awareness of multiple local, national and global charities. The funds raised, which have totalled in excess of £150,000 since taking over the role, go towards projects that focus on child education, development and support across the globe. Show less In charge of: developing and implementing a new Senior Games Afternoon at Surbiton High School to include our Year 11, Year 12 and, by 2019, our Year 13 students too. We have worked hard to listen to the student body to build a programme that accounts for the competitive team sports players of all levels, the individual sports enthusiasts, as well as the students focused on the recreational healthy activities that young people should have the opportunity to experience. I manage the internal and external staff/coaches, budget, facility organisation and transport demands. I aim to give our Sixth Formers a taste of varied activities and sports that coincide with their needs and aspirations, as well as challenge them both in an independent and team based environment. The lasting legacy of the programme aims to keep our young people inspired and motivated to continue and pursue a lifelong love of physical activity beyond their school and higher education years.
