  I completed the first half of my student teaching at Elkhart Central, where I taught Second and Fourth year Spanish students. I designed and taught engaging lessons in an attempt to really get students interested in the language, and to deepen not only their knowledge of the language, but also of the different cultures of the world associated with it. During my time at Central, I improved my classroom management, organizational, and planning skills.

  I originally came to Quitumbe to do an extra 8 weeks of student teaching (March-May), but then ended up staying on as a teacher for the rest of the year, where I continued to work as an English teacher for Terceros and Primeros of Bachillerato, the equivalent of seniors and sophomores in the United States, as well as a class of Novenos, which are the equivalent of US eighth graders.   I translate different types of documents, from academic articles to personal documents. I have done Spanish to English translations but can also do English to Spanish, as I am a native English speaker and fully fluent in Spanish. Some of my translation work has been published.
