The system is currently operational and actively gathering clinical data on infants at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.• Designed and built advanced hardware for multi-speckle diffuse correlation spectroscopy, optimizing depth penetration for detecting deep tissue blood flow, especially for brain imaging applications.• Modeled and simulated advanced CMOS single-photon counting image sensor for diffuse optics-based brain imaging applications.• Designed and prototyped a novel CMOS camera-based laser speckle contrast imaging system for blood flow monitoring.• Designed and developed a prism-based optic probe, employing both single and multimode fibers, for blood flow measurement, utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks.• Hands-on experience with various optical components including laser diodes, lenses, diffusers, polarizers, beam splitters, neutral density filters, and CMOS sensors.
