I was awarded the opportunity to engage as an intern as a newly graduated teacher at PLC. This was an incredibly valuable learning experience, as it introduced me to the workforce with a perfect balance of support and independence. I collaborated with staff on all levels, and learnt countless lessons that I have taken with me and implemented in all future roles.

During my time as an early childhood teacher at JSR, I brought my values and work ethic to the table in all my roles and responsibilities. Balancing the practical side of teaching with administrative tasks can be a challenge, but managing my time and employing organisational skills are a strength of mine, and I loved this position. I value the strong connections and relationships that were developed with students, their families and my colleagues, and was also involved in arranging and presenting professional development for my fellow teachers. As the Education Services Manager, my role entails focusing on increasing the reach of the Ronald McDonald Learning Program to provide much needed education support to students living with chronic medical and mental illness. We are striving to increasing awareness and advocacy of the program amongst schools, the hospital, social work and communities, extending our reach into the community with our professional development 'EDMed', and expand our the core educational services provided by Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia. Making change in the education space for children with complex needs is a privilege; a role I am incredibly passionate about. Show less As the Coordinator for the Ronald McDonald Learning Program, I am an advocate for children affected by chronic illness, state-wide. My responsibilities include liaising with health professionals, educators, other school representatives and parents of the children who are eligible for our program. My current role ties two areas of great interest together in perfect unison; education, and wellbeing. I manage and support over 170 teachers who work privately with our students, and have a caseload of around 150 families accessing our services. Other roles in this position involve recruitment of tutors through a thorough interview process, public speaking and presenting professional development opportunities to school staff and pre-service teachers at Western Australian universities, electronic correspondence and newsletters for all members of the program and maintaining social media pages. My interpersonal and organisational skills are of utmost importance in this role and I take pride in having high expectations and a quality work ethic. I also have a passion for inclusion and creating safe environments to allow colleagues to thrive and flourish. I have recently started learning AUSLAN and am privileged to play a part in our RAP committee. I have a Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in Nutrition and Addiction Studies, a Graduate Diploma of Education majoring in Early Childhood Education, a Diploma in Educational Psychology and a Diploma in Leadership and Management. I am always keen to continue to educate myself and engage in professional learning on a regular basis. I am a life-long learner and always encourage others to be as well. The saying "you learn something new every day" continues to ring true, and I strive for continual improvement professionally and personally. Show less
