  Activities and Societies: CU Football Team until ACL at the end of my sophomore season. CU education included three summers as an intern at KGO-TV in San Francisco which gave me a foundation in TV production. Eldorado Springs School of Vertical and Free ascents, Winter Park, CO Certified instructor Alpine Skiing, and a climbing guide for the Boulder Mountaineer. Also one winter as ski patrol Zermatt, Switzerland. Football scholarship to CU, started on CU frosh team with Bobby Anderson as QB me at halfback. Lettered my Sophomore Year at Strong Safety - ACL after the 10 game of the season. My new sport was rock climbing. By 1969 I was in Yosemite in Camp 4 each spring and eyeing climbing El Captain with ascents in 1973 of the Triple Direct and 1974 of the Salathe Wall. I lead the ear pitch! With a background in photography and three college summers of internships at KGO-TV in SF - I became a filmmaker in 1972 and pioneer in adventure sports 16mm filmmaking with "Break on Through". Scored by Tommy Bolin. That film got me three years (my graduate school) at NFL Films as a staff writer, director, editor and cameraperson. Skills in sailing, surfing, cycling, diving and running allowed me to create highly visual perspectives on sports and attract commercial production assignments. Moving to LA in 1980 allowed me to get into the Cinematographers Guild (Local 600) and the Directors Guild. Show less

  Activities and Societies: 3 seasons staff - under Big Ed Sabol, Steve Sabol and Phil Tucket and Ernie Earnst I learned sports cinematography, filmmaking, write and editing. (On Steenbecks thank you) This was my graduate school and I learned a great deal about cinematography and storytelling. I covered many events including Super Bowls, PGA Championships, Box Lacrosse, and many CBS Sports segment productions.

  Activities and Societies: Rocking climbing and skiing 101, 201, 301, 401 Letterman CU Football / Athletics 1967 Recruited to play at CU. Lettered on the varsity in 1967 ... running back and defensive safety. ACL - ended that endeavor and in 1967 ... by 1968 I became a climber, then climbing guide and ski instructor. Three summers as an intern at KGO-TV San Fransisco. Learned about production! And documentary films and news coverage.
