  As Marketing Manager for Akai Musical Instrument Corporation, I was part of the product steering group for globally distributed electronic products. I managed the product initiatives, look and feel, as well as new product development and rollout. In addition, I was responsible for the corporate web site and led the design team through a variety of projects. In this capacity I was responsible for developing and maintaining website content and worked with a variety of technologies including QTVR, Real Audio, Real Video, animations, and other devices used to enhance the site experience. Additionally, I was a member of the product development committee and worked on new product concepts, industrial designs, interface designs, and ongoing product development. Other responsibilities included the corporate art department where I managed and developed a variety of projects including magazine ad design, brochure design, banner design, copy writing, and marketing projects. Show less As Product Development Manager for Akai Musical Instrument Corporation, I was responsible for managing the engineering department and supervising all aspects of product development for each working project within the group from definition to production. The products developed were internationally distributed audio mixing consoles, power amplifiers, instrument amplifiers, digital samplers, multi-track recorders, and other audio products. I determined the resources and scheduling of each project, developed interface designs, developed the look and feel of the product, planned and defined feature sets, planned the project, defined the specifications required for the design, developed cost estimates, worked with suppliers, assisted in design troubleshooting and analysis, and defined engineering standards for the department.   In this position my responsibilities included the planning, design, and implementation of the company’s Internet e-commerce website. My primary objective was user interface/web site design and to ensure that the site’s functionality and appearance were consistent with the company’s business and technology goals. In the development of the web site, I used DHTML, JavaScript, ASP, and other technologies to insure a clean and functional design. This company was a new Internet startup in a pre-IPO stage, and I was responsible for every version of the site from the storyboards, to beta versions through complete functional e-commerce designs.
