      Sept 2020 - Mar 2021
      Assistant chef

I joined this business whilst it was in its very premature stages. As there were such few staff, I took on a multitude of job roles and responsibilities. I ran the social media sites and built up a larger client base by taking high quality photographs of the staff at work and the product itself. Their social media followers increased by 64% whilst I was managing the accounts. Often the environment in the kitchen was high-pressure and fast-paced. However, I regularly took initiative and tended to the obvious tasks that needed completing despite them not being part of my own duties. I also trained inexperienced staff in more technical skills during my overtime. Show less

      Jun 2021 - Sept 2022
      Maintenance technician

I completed training in encountering adverse interactions with clients, inclusivity and safeguarding, the risks and protocols surrounding the build-up of harmful E. coli bacteria in bathrooms and the correct protocols in dealing with illegal or suspicious packages in the mail rooms and accommodation rooms. My responsibilities were to ensure rooms were presentable and to the highest standard of cleanliness as well as track the progress of my teammates to plan for future weeks. I collaborated with my team to effectively use our time and resources each day to ensure every room of the 25,000 students on the campus was checked by the end of each week. Show less

      Aug 2021 - Aug 2021
      Assistant athletic trainer

As part of a small team, I planned sessions and ran safety checks on the track and equipment. Independently I lead warmups, high jump technique sessions and supervised lunch breaks. I encouraged an engaging and creative environment in which my athletes thrived. Most athletes were between the ages of 7-14 and were part of the government lead-free school meals programme. Several had challenging home lives and/or learning disabilities, therefore, I was taught how to coach and respond to disruptive behavioural issues. One child refused to participate during the first week. However, by gradually installing positive reinforcement, they independently volunteered to engage in sessions by the end of the second week and by the third week they were one of our top athletes attending. • The university of sheffield

      Jan 2022 - Jun 2024

At the end of this academic year I completed a paid internship as a museum curator at Sheffield University’s Alfred Denny Museum. The main aim of this internship was to support the re-curation of the museum's historically important bird eggs, collected by ornithologist Captain Vivian Hewitt in the early twentieth century. 🪺📝🔍My main responsibilities included matching the specimens to their historical labels, correctly handling the eggs and assessing their condition, transcribing historical documents, and accurately identifying the species that the eggs belonged to. Additionally, I was required to research the history of the egg collection for a short article for the museum website and engage with visitors to the museum by answering their questions and educating them about the ethics and sustainability of egg collections for use in ecological research and teaching at the University. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to explore the history of this collection as it honed my interest in the ethics and sustainability of museums. Thus, this internship aligned with my values and belief that we should value our comprehension of the history of museum collections and not only the zoological knowledge of the specimens themselves.I would like to thank Emma Hughes for this invaluable opportunity and support, and Kane Dibb and Tim Birkhead for their encouragement and advice when creating my article.
