Sessions covered critical aspects of policy, systems approaches and integrated… Show more I was selected for the prestigious Masterclass on Urban Resilience by CDRI during as part of ICDRI International Conference, 2021, wherein I explored the challenges and opportunities of developing resilient infrastructure while understanding its synergies in achieving the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) targets, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Sessions covered critical aspects of policy, systems approaches and integrated planning approaches to unpack issues faced by cities in the context of resilient infrastructure systems.I learnt key innovative tools that cities can utilize to mitigate risks and build resilience, including the Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) tools for disaster resilient infrastructure. The Masterclass on Urban Resilience by CDRI, equipped me with key knowledge on Risk-informed urbanization, which considers future hazards while planning for large-scale and everyday infrastructure towards ensuring sustainable and resilient urban futures. CDRI "Youth for Resilient Infrastructure" International Competition Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure Mar 2021 The competition for scientific article writing was launched under the aegis of global Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure by Dr P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, India and Rt Hon Alok Sharma, President COP 26 at the Prime Minister Office, India. The scientific article competition was conceptualized as a platform to harness the energy of young minds by inspiring them to engage with issues and solutions for disaster resilient infrastructure. The scientific article competition was conceptualized as a platform to harness the energy of young minds by inspiring them to engage with issues and solutions for disaster resilient infrastructure. My theme focussed on "Innovation and emerging technologies in disaster resilient infrastructure".After three rounds of evaluation by a jury comprising of global experts, top 20 entries from 19 countries were selected.The winners of this scientific article competition were announced during the annual conference of CDRI: International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI 2021) from 17 -19 March, 2021.I proudly represented The University of Tokyo, Japan and I was the only finalist selected from Japan and awarded with the Top Submissions Certificate of Appreciation by CDRI.
