  As a fire captain/paramedic, I have shared responsible for supervising for all EMS operations within the County and providing system status management. Our system has 20 Engines, 5 Trucks, 3 Squads, 15 ALS ambulances and 3 volunteer rescue squads covering 244 square miles. EMS Supervisors perform training, special project oversight, incident response, quality assurance, patient follow-up, complaint management, and coaching/counseling of personnel. EMS Supervisors provide operational support on fire scenes as the safety officer or incident commander. Previously, I managed a fire station (engine, tanker, brush, and fire medic units), specialty shop, and bike medic team. I lead three shifts that consist of a total of 21 personnel. I oversee the budgets, daily operations, training, inspections, and pre-fire planning for my station. I act as the battalion chief in his absence, with the responsibility of responding to, mitigating, and managing all-hazards incidents. Show less
