      Key Skills from being a Recreation Assistant / Lifeguard:• Being flexible as to when I can work - 0 hour contract, working at least 40 hours a week (non-term time) whilst also being called in for extra shifts, between the hours of 6:30 – 23:00.• An excellent level of concentration for long periods of time watching pools & slides for the safety of its users.• Strong communication skills, with both the customers and all levels of staff. Shown when I dealt with customer complaints about equipment faults, by informing the correct members of my team.• The ability to keep calm and act quickly, especially in emergency situations – Rescued multiple customers and administered first aid. • A high level of responsibility – supervised and helped new members of staff.• Prompt problem solving in high stress situations, for example dealing with a poolside knee dislocation, heart attacks and seizures.• Leadership and confidence, shown when covering for Team Leaders when absent due to holiday or sickness.• Dedication - NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification) Qualification that requires renewal exams every 2 years to allow me to carry on working in my current job role. I am also CPR / AED / First Aid trained (up to date training every month) and have a full CRB Check.• Training – Health and Safety in the work place, Risk Assessments, COSHH• Adapting to a different way of working in a similar environment and job role to which I’ve worked before, by being employed in similar roles in two different centres that are run completely differently.
