  Harlow Council has developed me as an O-Shaped Lawyer with strong resilience and open-mindedness. There were on-site, practical sessions on Social Housing sites, NGOs, local police station and online sessions with reputed personalities from Birketts LLP, CUP&A and Browne Jacobson. The Assistant Director Governance, Head of Legal Services, Housing, Finance & Licensing Managers, the honoured Councillors and trainee solicitors at Harlow delivered the following sessions which have educated on new topics, largely enhanced my skill-set and have solidly firmed my position as a future solicitor-•Housing & Planning- Aware of strategies involved in purchase of residential spaces and maintenance of social security for residents. •Licensing- Aware of importance, application, decision making and implications of different types of licenses. •Finance & Investment- Skilled with financial management involving public sector finance, fair and informed decision-making through consultations with legal and finance experts, market analysis and balance of competition amongst local suppliers. •Regeneration- Acquainted with efficient strategies like use of spaces to create inviting spaces. •Legal Skills- Educated with Solicitors’ Regulation Authority rule-set, especially the principle 7.2 and policy frameworks. Also, aware of the importance of transparency in decision-making to prevent subjection to judicial review.•Procurement- Best value for supplies of products.•Community Safety- Proficient in drafting and execution of inspection warrants to ensure adherence to safety protocols.•Relevance of public projects by Local Governments- It creates long-term job opportunities, secures bio-diversity and ensures safer havens for the relevant residents of the locality.•Environmental awareness and social responsibility- Understood the significance of people’s interest in public projects, especially keeping in mind social, economic and environmental benefits and consequences.
