      Summer intern

      As a Summer Intern at MOIRA I gained exposure to the not-for-profit industry and learned about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and financial planning. In addition to this, I also was tasked with creating content for their internal staff EDMs and external EDMs that go out to service providers, clients and carers. I learned about Human Resources processes, Quality Management systems, data entry, analysis and privacy, CRM systems, and gained sharper researching skills.

      As a Monash Connect Student Officer I assist current and past students, staff members, and members of the public in answering their queries in an efficient and professional way. The channels in which this is done include face-to-face, over the phone, and through email. This role has strengthened not only my ability to use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and database systems, but also my customer service, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. I place compassion, patience and understanding at the forefront of all my interactions with our different stakeholders in order to provide them with excellent and memorable service. I also work as a floor support being the point-of-call for others in my team with any questions they have about the enquiries they are working on.       As Vice President of the Monash Marketing Students' Society I was in charge of planning, coordinating and executing the semester one and semester two Orientation weeks at Monash University that served thousands of students across the weeks with the goal of increasing awareness and exposure of the MMSS at our Caulfield and Clayton campuses. I was also heavily involved in planning and promoting our two major recruitment periods which saw over 70 people apply for positions on the committee. Finally, I was also tasked with leading, supporting and guiding our 50 committee members to ensure the smooth running of eight events (four social and four professional) that served over 1300 students. Show less As a Publications Officer I help run the communications aspect of the Monash Marketing Students' Society. This includes editing and posting weekly blogs on the MMSS MANE blog platform showcasing the voices and experiences of our committee members. Additionally, I am also responsible for updating the jobs board on our website every Monday with current job/volunteer/internship opportunities related to the marketing industry that may be of interest to our members. I am also tasked with creating the weekly EDM that goes out to all (~400) MMSS members that promote our upcoming events. I also run the MMSS LinkedIn account featuring our professional events and upcoming opportunities to our 2000+ followers. Finally, I am currently working to create the 2022 Careers Book. This requires liaising with the Monash University Marketing Department, a publishing agency, and numerous companies to promote pathways to the marketing industry to our students. Show less
