      Public Relations

As one of the founding members of the Entreprenuership Cell of our college, I joined the PR Team, where we connected with companies to help form a relationship with our college and spread awareness of our initiative. The defining moment of the club came when we conducted our first flagship event, where we invited entrepreneurs of startups to help mentor and groom students and it ended up a huge success. My most important contribution to the event was getting the biggest sponsor which made it possible for us to organise it at the scale we wanted to. Show less

      Member Technical Staff

We worked on a project to create passport portrait images from various group pictures. We used HaarCascades inbuilt with OpenCV was used to detect the facial contours, GrabCut algorithm to extract faces from images whose backgrounds were smoothened by using bitwise operations.

      Jun 2016 - Jul 2016
      Research Intern

I worked on analyzing user performance in collaborative knowledge production system by studying the quality of millions of answers posted on Stack Overflow and identify behaviors linked to successful answers. Our findings raise possibilities of new assessment tools that could improve human performance and the quality of knowledge production systems in general. This project eventually ended up as a publication in International AAAI Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM) 2017.

    • GE Digital

      Jan 2017 - May 2019

During my internship, I had the opportuity to work on the below projects:1. Mixed Reality Remote Assistance application on Microsoft HoloLensWe developed a POC to provide remote assistance to repair parts, by people who do not have technical knowledge of the part, like a turbo charger of an engine, wearing a HoloLens. Development was done using Unity and C#.2. Data Visualization using VR on Samsung Gear VRThe goal was to showcase the possibilities of VR in GE, by developing an innovative 3D visualization of fuel consumption data of GE flights. Development was done using Unity and C#.3. Visualization tool consolidation across GEWorked on a management project, which involved talking to vendors on tool migration capabilities and creation of a strategy for reducing multiple tool usage across GE and bring in $5MM savings. • GE Power

      Jun 2019 - now

As a data science technical lead for a team of data scientists, my focus area is NLP, where I’m currently focused on building generative AI solutions at scale. Some of my key contributions in this role:1. Strategy planning for implementing large language models (LLM) and generative AI at scale in GE.2. Researching and implementing new techniques/technologies like fine tuning using qLORA, knowledge graphs etc.3. Developed chatbot as POC by implementing retrieval augmented generation.4. Help set up generative AI lab for experimentation by other teams. Deployed multiple llama models using AWS SageMaker endpoints as well as using HuggingFace TGI.5. Contextual search pipeline across internal search tool using mpnet-v2 sentence transformer.6. Keyword search based similarity model powered by Apache Solr, by identifying key parts of input text body and generating a boosted Solr query.7. Developed automation of ticket routing using TF-IDF combined with an neural network classifier to bring in 75% reduction of reassignments and $2M savings. Show less As part of the cloud migrations team that is responsible for migrations of applications used across the business, I worked on 4 different areas:1. Process improvements in the migration process to ensure on time migrations2. Cost savings to the tune of $100k by identifying opportunities to optimise and streamline existing infrastructure.3. Develop baseline for new AWS and Azure services to enable company wide adoption for different applications.4. Build an Azure reference 3 tier app architecture that brings in time savings when developing new to-be architectures Show less I worked in the Materials Management IT team, focusing on bringing digital transformation across our supply chain.Key areas:• Excess inventory forecast: Build and deploy a model that predicts parts we are likely to sell during outages.• Pull based planning: Design architecture and build a POC to integrate data between datalake and cloud, to enable auto generation of planned orders based on unit shipments.• Capacity planning: Help move our factory planning capability on to Oracle cloud from a manual process.• Project management: Led the migration of internal project management into agile framework tool Rally. Show less I continued my role where I was responsible for the creation of self-serve data sources to enable users to create their own analytics dashboards, using tools like Tableau and Talend. My other contributions involved:1. Built a python-based lineage tool that maps 20K+ undocumented tables and provides a lineage of data flow in GE Power’s datalake ecosystem. The tool parses PostgreSQL objects and stores data into Neo4J graph database to create the lineage. 2. Pricing Analytics: Developed a multi-step prediction model to first determine probability of winning a deal using XGBoost and then predict the discount rate using a Random Forest Regressor, to maximize profit margins.3. Helped in making datalake SOX compliant by identifying process gaps and define an SOP. Show less
