Directly supervised cooldown preparations to commence maintenance availabilities on time or ahead of schedule for both S5W and multiple A4W Naval Nuclear Power Propulsion Plants. Trained and supervised QA craftsmen in the proper first time maintenance of an A4W reactor plant. Maintained the work candidate database for 30 work centers and assisted in coordination with outside maintenance activities. Supervised the administration needs of 90 personnel in the operation of five work centers in two A4W reactor plants, the upkeep of a technical publications library, and the classified local area network. Maintained a flawless calibration program on over 400 pieces of test, maintenance and diagnostic equipment to support four work centers in two A4W reactor plants. Managed administrative records for hundreds of students to ensure seamless transition to Nuclear Power School with their security clearances, new badges, and new ID cards, writing a day-to-day operations manual for my replacement. Trained over 40 personnel in all aspects of radiological concerns relating specifically to maintenance performed inside of both A4W and S5W reactor compartments on time with no rework. Trained and supervised 1,400 students in the theory, operation, and maintenance practices of an S5W Naval Nuclear Power Prototype as part of staff duties at Nuclear Power Training Unit Charleston. Instrumental to maintaining fleet readiness when only one of four prototypes was able to deliver capable and nuclear trained Sailors to the fleet. Show less Served as a Nuclear Engineering Officer of the Watch and Nuclear Propulsion Plant Watch Officer for one deployment, one Planned Incremental Availability, and subsequent nuclear propulsion plant testing and sea trials of USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), as well as a Nuclear Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor for one Selective Restricted Availability, and subsequent nuclear propulsion plant testing and sea trials of USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). Provided one-on-one hands-on training to a dozen personnel in the performance of their duties as both Propulsion Plant Watch Officer and Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor on the safe operation and practical aspects of an A4W Naval Nuclear Power Propulsion Plant. Directly supervised and trained over 200 personnel in the testing, operation, and maintenance of both reactor mechanical and reactor propulsion equipment for two A4W Naval Nuclear Power Propulsion Plants during arduous shipyard and industrial environments on multiple aircraft carriers. Responsibilities included coordinating and planning more than 10,000 jobs involving access and equipment outages, supervising the administration of the material management system database to screen, review, approve, and process thousands of jobs for two A4W reactor plants.
