      Intern Automation tester

Performed front end java automation testing for the company's portal.

    • Mercedes-Benz South Africa

      Mar 2019 - Mar 2019
Noise vibration and harshness intern engineer

Worked in the rework department as a NVH analysis engineer and collected data used for my undergraduate thesis on Buzz, Squeaks and Rattle detection. This data supported my research on automating assembly-fault detection and localization.

    • 4C Group of Companies

      Dec 2019 - Jul 2020
      Solutions Engineer

I maintained and monitored online E-commerce servers used by Vodafone Africa. This included server upgrades and recovery during system failures. I worked directly with clients to ensure mobile data traffic was being processed to specification and developed new application streams for new services. I worked with Linux, SQL, HTML and JavaScript.

    • ASML

      Aug 2020 - now

This role specializes in stakeholder and project management disciplines that help to drive industrialization projects for handling tools and transport for ASML's DUV business line. I create and maintain quarterly plans to help steer my team of manufacturing engineers to make new tooling factory- and field-ready and rework existing tooling experiencing legacy issues. Current projects include: DUV New Product Introduction, Alternative Transport Methods and Install Base Production and Sustaining Show less Perform calibration, performance and qualification tests for DUV NXT Lithography systems. Day-to-day I guide the machine through the test sequence as well as troubleshoot issues causing delay and downtime for final shipment. This involves the use of in-house software and manual adjustments/cleaning of sensitive components such as robots, lenses and mirrors in a clean room environment to prepare the system for customers such as TSMC, Samsung and Micron. My additional roles in this job consisted of team lean change agent and software automation key-user. I started exploring continuous improvement methodologies and sought out projects that improve the cycle time and quality of our test processes. In addition, I sought out opportunities to improve social dynamics within the team by introducing and leading stand-up meetings. I gained new knowledge of in-house software applications and continued using Linux language Show less

The project involved the design and manufacturing of a beer pong robot that could launch a ping pong ball into preset cup locations at a distance of approximately 2m away. Siemens PLC was used to design the PID controller and the launch design mechanism included a spring load mechanism comprising of linear actuators and magnetic components. The fire/reload mechanism was automated to take place using a virtual controller also designed in Siemens PLC. The direction control used a rotational axes so that the robot could fire in 360 degree range and the distance of the shot was dependent on the amount of spring loading. The design was low budget and was mainly built of scrap PVC tubing and wood. Safety considerations had to be accounted for and a basic calibration grid was mapped out to accurately aim the robots by adjusting the rotation and spring load to specific values to hit the mark points.
