      Deputy Command Chaplain

      Deputy Command Chaplain of the forward deployed US Army Garrison (USAG) Hessen with 64 installations and 50,571 personnel supporting the entire 1st Armored Division footprint, 3rd Corps Support Command and V Corps separate commands involved in the Global War on Terrorism. Supervised the staff work of a Resource Manager, Family Life Chaplain, two Religious Education Directors, and five Chaplain Assistants. Operations Officer synchronizing religious support for four subordinate garrisons spread across central Germany, 12 chapels, 40 worship services and scores of other chaplain programs throughout USAG Hessen. Personnel Actions Officer of 14 organic Chaplains and eight activated Reserve Chaplains assigned within the Area of Operations. Provided oversight for $3.9 million budget. Ensured religious support throughout the entire garrison spectrum and was the senior pastor of the Hanau Protestant Service. Show less

      Deputy Command Chaplain of the US Army Southern European Task Force, the Army Component to U.S. Africa Command, ready to deploy as an Army, Joint or Combined Task Force. Assisted the Command Chaplain establishing policy, goals and priorities for religious support integration during steady state and contingency operations. Advised the Command on matters of religion, morale, and ethical implications of plans, policies, and procedures. Led the Religious Support Team (RST) developing deployment plans, force structure, resource allocation, mobilization and branch specific training. Led the RST in initiating and implementing comprehensive religious support for the organization's personnel and Families that strengthen Army values. Aided the Senior Chaplain in technical supervision, training and force management for 24 Chaplains and Assistants in Vicenza, Italy. Ensured the free exercise of religion. Show less

      Senior Command Chaplain for the largest overseas installation and for the entire German State of Bavaria including six garrisons located at Grafenwoehr (and Rose Barracks), Hohenfels, Garmisch, Ansbach, Bamberg and Schweinfurt consisting of over 75,000 Soldiers, Families and Department of the Army Civilians. Supported garrison religious requirements of three Brigades and numerous separate organizations involved in Overseas Contingency Operations. Provided oversight for religious support to the Joint Multinational Training Command, Joint Multinational Readiness Center, Seventh Army NCO Academy, Marshall Center, NATO School and Edelweiss Lodge and Resort. Afforded leadership and training for 129 Chaplains and Chaplain Assistants. Synchronized Religious Support for ten chapels and 28 worship services with 65 program elements. Managed a $1.6 million budget. Show less Senior Command Chaplain for the US Army Garrison (USAG) Benelux, including the Supreme Allied Headquarters Europe (SHAPE) and Chievres, Belgium US Communities, USAG Brussels and USAG Schinnen in the Netherlands with operations over a 6-nation footprint and 14,000 personnel consisting of Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Marine units in a Joint, Interagency, Intergovernmental, and Multinational (JIIM) environment including Department of State, NATO Headquarters, European Union and United States Embassies. Provided spiritual leadership for 19 Chaplains and Chaplain Assistants, a Director of Religious Education and multiple other staff members. Coordinated religious support activities with International Chaplains and advised Senior US personnel on matters of religion, morals, morale, and ethics.
