  Tasks involved Environmental Monitoring at landfill sites involved using specialist equipment to measure and record data such as the pH, temperature and total dissolved solids of groundwater and surface water, in addition to the concentration of different ground gases. In addition to this, Clare used Trimble land surveying equipment, CAD and CDS modelling software were used to create accurate two and three dimensional maps of sites for use in project reports.   I started work at Eunomia as an intern, and worked my way up (through trainee consultant and junior consultant positions) to reach Consultant. My main responsibility at Eunomia was project management. I was a key member of Eunomia’s local authority support team, and was involved with/managed a wide range of projects for both the public and private sector covering various topics within waste management (such as policy, contract negotiation, and procurement). Specific tasks on these projects included undertaking research and analysis, covering both primary and secondary data sources, conducting interviews with stakeholders, report writing, providing support to senior consultants, delivering presentations/workshops and project management and administration. Show less After a short period as an intern, I was promoted to a permanent role at Eunomia. My role in supporting colleagues with project delivery continued, and enabled me to gain further experience in waste management and the marine sector, covering topics such as marine planning, commercial and household waste and recycling, waste prevention policies, and local authority waste collection options appraisal.   The purpose of this role is to support the management of hydrographic, meteorological and oceanographic in-service capability requirements, both for the Royal Navy and UK Strategic Command through the Joint User. The Fleet Environmental Information Officer (FEIO) is a key conduit between the RN and Specialist Geospatial Centres (SGCs) such as Met Office and UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO), and the National Oceanography Centre (NOC). This ongoing activity involves engagement and facilitating liaison between Defence customers and suppliers at SGCs to establish and refine requirements. The FEIO is to establish and maintain links across Force Generation (Ships) and provide capacity to lead and support tasks requiring understanding and awareness of environmental protection in the maritime context. This includes but is not limited to working with the Operating Safety and Environmental Protection Group (OSEPG), Minor Warships scrum team, Major Warships scrum team and Engineering scrum team. The objective is to raise awareness of environmental protection requirements and reduce environmental impacts of Force Generation - Ships activity. Show less
