    • The Artisans' Attic

      Mar 2009 - Apr 2012
      Owner

"The Artisans' Attic" was a 'little gem in the city' (as one customer called it). I tried to create the feeling of a lovely shop you would find in a small town in cottage country. I sourced artistic pieces of jewelry, cards, ceramics, scarves and more. Added to the mix were funky gift items like Marilyn Monroe purses, make up mirrors, and other fun items like mugs and what not of Audrey Hepburn, The Wizard of Oz, The Beatles and more. Coffee, Lattes and Biscotti were always being served to the customers and neighbouring businesses. A fabulous wall of jams, mustards and other goodies from Manitoulin Island was popular as well as the amazing "Ma's Kitchen" chocolate. This is also where I test marketed my own line of cosmetics....which eventually became: "JANICE CAROL COSMETICS". This is really my background and as much as I loved having the shop, my greater passion was cosmetics and decided to close the shop in April 2012 to pursue building and marketing my line. It did very well in the shop and deserved a chance. The major aspect of the line I wanted to develop was the healthier formulas and being able to offer a primarily PARABEN FREE line of skin care and make up products. Show less
