My current work with the BBA has enabled Charitable Trusts, Foundations and other philanthropic organisations to deliver their own objectives of supporting education and training for this target group by directing their funds to provide bursaries for less advantaged, young people. BBA Students are not eligible for 'student loans'. Outcomes that funders help young and disadvantaged people achieve include:* High quality training in traditional heritage skills in boat building or furniture building * City of Guilds Qualification* The skills to obtain a good and full filling long term employment* Good team working skills and a pool of valuable contacts, * Improved well-being* Increased Communication Skills* Ability for Independent Thinking and Actions* Enhanced self-confidence and self-reliance* Potentially a 'Life-Changing Experience, in many waysFor Partners, some of the benefits include:* Delivery of the organisation own objectives and outcomes in education, training and supporting young people. * Bursary students submitting regular written reports on progress to organisations.* Video clips of the students' work and progress as the course developed, posted on social media.* Making available all of the above for the organisation to use for their own publicity.* Invitation to representatives of the organisation to visit the BBA, with a view to developing longer-term relationships.* Invitation to representatives to the ‘boat launching’ events which are a popular local spectacle.* Coming to the BBA and Lyme Regis for Corporate Team Building Events based on a diverse programme of activitiesMy past experience included strong strategic public/private partnerships, working in economic regeneration and project delivery in areas of social and economic deprivation. This very much included securing funding from EU, government, other agency and National Lottery sources. For an informal chat please contact me on simon.williams@boatbuildingacademy.com Show less
