Jan 2014 - Dec 2014Fungal Pathogenesis Researcher (Honours student)Project: Uracil phosphoribosyltransferase as an anti-fungal drug target.*Gene knockout: using biolistic transformation, southern blotting to confirm. *Molecular cloning*Protein expression: small-scale expression tests followed by large-scale expression and purification.*Crystallisation: sparse matrix crystallisation screen followed by optimisation resulting in obtaining 2.4 Å resolution diffraction data when the crystals were shot at the Australain Synchrotron.
